GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — The Green Bay Packers are trying to beef up their injury-plagued defensive unit. They are in talks to sign 2019 Pro Bowl linebacker Jaylon Smith who was released by the Dallas Cowboys this week.
The thinking is, the signing would not cost ther Packer musch since Smith’s base salary was guaranteed and will be paid by Dallas.
The Cowboys gave up on Smith despite him having good seasons the past two years. He has had injuries in the past including a major knee injury while in college at Notre Dame.
