STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The UWSP football team lost to UW-River Falls 56-20 on Saturday at Goerke Field.
Freshman Jeremy Kobe had six receptions and his first touchdown for the Pointers. Joe Aguilera caught five balls for 114 yards including a 72 yard touchdown.
Jahl Stigall had a four yeard run for the other score.
The Pointers, now 2-3, 0-2 in WIAC, will play at UW-Stout on Saturday afternoon.
The UWSP womens soccer team picked up a 2-0 road win over UW-Whitewater on Saturday afternoon.
Kati Frierdich found the back of the net twice within the first ten minutes of the match. Assists went to Jessica Camarato and Hannah Kroupa. Miranda Nieman had seven saves for her 2nd shutout of the season.
The Pointers, now 5-9, 1-2-1 in WIAC, will host River Falls on Saturday.
The UWSP volleyball team won a pair of four-set matches at Wheaton College in Illinois on Saturday to complete an unbeaten weekend.
They took down Elmhurst 25-22, 25-22,13-25 and 25-17 and also topped Wheaton 25-23, 1825, 25-18, 25-18.
Grace Michalske had 40 and 42 assists in the matches and added 12 & 11 digs for her third and fourth double-doubles of the year.
Ashley Kopp had a season-high 23 kills against Elmhurst and added a double-double vs Wheaton with 12 kills and 16 digs.
The Pointers, now 19-4, will host Carroll on Friday night.
The UWSP womens tennis team dropped a 9-0 match to UW-La Crosse on Saturday. The Pointers, now 15-2, 2-2 in WIAC, will have their home finale this weekend against UW-Eau Claire.
