GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU)– The Green Bay Packers will likely be without their best receiver and their defensive coordinator when they face the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night.
It was announced on Monday that both Davante Adams and Joe Barry had been placed on the COVID-19 list. Both have been vaccinated and could return if they have two negative tests 24 hours apart.
Packer head coach Matt LaFleur said he is ‘not holding his breath on that” He also said the team has been placed in “advanced COVID-19 protocol” by the NFL which meant virtual meetings on Monday and all employees of the organization need to wear masks indoors and social distance.
LaFleuer did say that Marquez Valdes Scantling was close to returning from his hamstring injury and could play Thursday.
Packer players will be tested each day now as part of the protocol. The few players who are not vaccinated and were deemed close contacts of Adams or Barry would be quarantined for five days. There was no report of who that might be.
