WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Marathon County jury has found Cindy Schulz-Juedes guilty of killing Ken Juedes in 2006.
Court records show the 66-year-old was found guilty to one count of first-degree intentional homicide in addition to one count of obstructing an officer.
The decision was announced at 6:30 Tuesday evening after about four and a half hours of deliberation.
Prosecutors in the case had pointed to numerous factors including a perceived lack of remorse from Schulz-Juedes in the time following Ken’s death. Her defense team had tried to pin the crime on a group of five men that were involved in a legal fight with Juedes over the sale of a racetrack.
Schulz-Juedes faces a mandatory life sentence for the homicide charge alone, with only the possibility of parole to be discussed at sentencing. A sentencing date will be set at a later time.
The trial had been scheduled to run into early November but wrapped up after just twelve days.
