TOWN OF STOCKTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Stockton.
The Portage County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call of a two-vehicle crash on County Highway J. The crash happened near 9th Street. The initial report said that several people injured.
When deputies arrived, it was determined that a pickup truck driven by Joseph Kaminski, 94, was traveling east on 9th Street, and failed to stop at a stop sign. His truck traveled entered the intersection and struck the front driver’s side of an SUV that was traveling north on Highway J.
A 28-year-old woman was driving the SUV. A 32-year-old man, and two children, ages 5 and 3, were passengers.
Kaminski was airlifted to Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He died from his injuries on Tuesday.
The four people that were in the SUV were transported to Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield. None of their injuries are life-threatening.
The crash remains under investigation.
