ASHWAUBENON, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) — The Green Bay Packers are being fined for violation of the NFL and NFL Players Association’s COVID-19 Protocols.
According to ESPN, the team has been fined 300-thousand-dollars for its violations. Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers along with wide receiver Allen Lazard were each fined over 14-thousand dollars.
Rodgers missed this past week’s game against Kansas City due to being in COVID protocols. The Packers host the Seahawks on Sunday.
Meanwhile Rodgers is once again speaking about his vaccination controversy. The Packers quarterback was met with widespread backlash after it was revealed he was not vaccinated and contracted COVID, despite saying months ago that he “was immunized” against the virus.
Rodgers told the “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday he knows “he’s a role model to a lot of people,” adding he knows some people may have felt misled and he takes “full responsibility for those comments.”
Last week Rodgers said he never lied, and he found a long-term immunization protocol because he’s allergic to an ingredient in two of the coronavirus vaccines.
