Apartment complex damaged by early morning fire

PLOVER, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — An apartment complex in Plover suffered heavy damage from an early morning fire on Tuesday.

Several fire departments responded to the Porter Place Apartments on Porter Road.

Fire crews on-scene told a WAOW-TV reporter that a resident woke up to the smell of smoke, saw flames, and pulled the fire alarm.

All 17 people in the 8-unit complex were evacuated. There were no injuries, but the structure is a total loss.
