STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The UWSP mens basketball team won a pair of games over the weekend. On Saturday the Pointers beat Lake Forest Illinois 65-59 in Wisconsin Dells. On Sunday they topped Augustana 79-61 at Quandt Fieldhouse.
Garrett Nelson led the Pointers in scoring both days with 19 on saturday and 18 on Sunday. Ryan Genrich had a career high 17 on Saturday and Brady Wagner added 11. Sunday Wagner had 15 and Elijah Vander Velden had 12.
The Pointers, now 3-2, will play at UW-Whitewater on Wednesday.
The UWSP mens hockey team settled for a 3-3 tie with Concordia of Wisconsin on Saturday at KB Willet Arena.
Pointer goals went to Jordan Fader, Cody Moline & Noah Finstrom. Eli Billing had 30 saves.
The Pointers, now 6-3-1, will travel to Menominee on Friday for a game with UW-Stout.
