WESTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The D.C. Everest school district is making a change in COVID-19 protocols. It’s based on updated recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control.
According to an email to parents, the district will now require all students who test positive, regardless of vaccination status, to remain at home for five days. After that, as long as they have no symptoms, students may return to class. They’ll have to wear a mask for another five days.
Any student with a fever must remain at home until they are fever-free.
Any student with COVID cases at home will need to take different steps depending on their vaccination level:
- If not fully vaccinated, the student will need to quarantine at home for five days. They can return to school if no symptoms develop.
- If fully vaccinated and with no symptoms, they can attend school normally.
