WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau School District is reducing the amount of time that students exposed to COVID-19 will be required to wear face coverings in in-person classroom settings.
According to a memo shared with parents on Friday, those students will be required to mask up for five days from exposure, instead of 10.
Parents are being asked to continue monitoring their kids for COVID-19 symptoms and to let a school nurse know if they have come down with the disease or been in close contact with someone who has. Testing is encouraged 3-5 days after exposure.
School leaders will be contacting parents of children currently in masking protocols with instructions on how to proceed.
