MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Natural Resources Board has a new leader, but the old leader has not left the board.
The Wausau Pilot & Review is reporting that Dr. Fred Prehn, whose term expired last May, will be replaced as the head of the board by Greg Kazmierski. Both Prehn and Kazmierski were Scott Walker appointees to the board. Prehn, who didn’t run for re-election as the board’s leader, will continue to be a member of the board for now.
Governor Tony Evers nominated Sandra Nass to replace Prehn last May but Prehn refuses to vacate the seat, saying he doesn’t have to until the State Senate confirms Nass. The Senate has refused to even discuss a Nass confirmation vote.
Wisconsin AG Josh Kaul has filed a lawsuit trying to force Prehn off the baord. The State Supreme Court is reviewing the suit.
Kazmierski owns an archery store in Pewaukee.
