MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — Seven residents have been displaced after an attic fire in a Marshfield home.
Fire crews were called out Friday afternoon for a report of smoke coming from the attic of the single-story home. They were able to extinguish the flames while keeping the damage to the attic area.
All seven occupants were able to get out of the home. No injuries were reported in the incident.
The lower level of the home did suffer some smoke and water damage. Fire crews estimate the damage to the home at about $62,000.
Investigators determined the cause was an overloaded electrical conductor on an over-fused circuit.
The Red Cross is assisting the family.
