WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — If you’ve been putting off diving into the world of electronic ticketing for events, it may be time to give up the fight.
Wausau East and West High Schools along with the Wisconsin Valley Conference have announced that all postseason and state playoff events will feature mobile ticketing. A move that will eliminate the need for schools to handle cash, restrict access if necessary, and trace events if the need arises.
The conference and the state have partnered with the Ticket Spricket platform, which will allow fans to purchase tickets online and present them for entry on a mobile phone. School officials say this will include the upcoming Boy’s Wrestling and Boy’s Swimming championships.
Fans who need to purchase advance tickets for these events can do so at the Ticket Spricket website for the conference, which allows fans to purchase single-game tickets for varsity events as well as season or sport-specific pass for individual schools.
Fans should have their digital tickets ready to show on their phone or printed at home for scanning at each event. For those fans who don’t purchase tickets in advance, there will be a scannable QR code at the door for all league events to allow for the purchase of single-game tickets on-site with a credit card.
The system works just like digital ticketing for professional sporting events such as the MLB Ballpark app, Ticketmaster, or Seat Geek. Fans are asked to be patient as the schools transition to the new system, and contact their local schools with any questions.
