GREEN BAY, Wi (WSAU) — Various reports around the NFL say that the Green Bay Packers are hiring former Raiders head coach Rich Bisaccia as their new special teams coach. No official word from Green Bay yet on the hire.
Bissacia took over for the fired Jon Gruden as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders this past season. He was also their special teaams coach. He is has been a highly respected special teams coach dating back to 2002 with Tampa Bay.
No word on what the Packers will pay Bisaccia but it is expected to be well above the league norm as they work to improve a unit that finished dead last in special teams statistical metrics this past season and had numerous blocked and missed kicks in several games including the playoff loss to San Francisco.
