MENASHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – State Senator Roger Roth is announcing his campaign for Lieutenant Governor.
Sen. Roth is a Republican serving Senate District 19, which includes Appleton, Neenah, Menasha and Winneconne.
The Appleton native was first elected to the State Assembly between in 2006-2008. He has served in the Senate since 2014. Roth was also appointed President of the Senate in 2017 and 2019.
According to the Wisconsin Elections Commission, seven Republicans and five Democrats have already registered to run for lieutenant governor.
A primary election is set for August 9th. The winners in the Democratic and Republican races will then run on a single ticket with their party’s nominee for governor.
