WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — A school counselor has been accused of sexually assaulting a student at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School.
Police say Christopher Bondioli is expected to be charged with sexual assault of a student by a school staffer soon, though exact details of the complaint against him remain under wraps.
School officials were alerted to a potentially inappropriate relationship between a staffer and a student through another employee. Officers then received text messages and other details from the victim, which led them to arrest Bondioli.
Bondioli is no longer employed by the school. He was put on leave in late January and the school board accepted his resignation on February 14th.
In a letter to parents, Superintendent Craig Boren said the district is aware of the situation and is providing resources to students and family members who may be impacted by the news. Boren adds that the district is cooperating with the investigation and will have no further comment at this time.
