GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — Davante Adams may not play for the Green Bay Packers under the terms of the franchise tag after all.
Instead, the Pro Bowl Wideout is being traded to the Las Vegas Raiders for two 2022 draft picks, including the #22 overall pick in the first round, according to multiple sources including ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Adams will also reportedly sign a new five-year contract as well, though terms of that deal have not been disclosed. The move also reunites him with QB Derek Carr; the duo played together at Fresno State where they led the Bulldogs to the 2013 Mountain West Conference Championship.
Green Bay had used the franchise tag on Adams earlier this month in hopes of working out a long-term deal with him.
The 29-year-old is coming off a season in which he set franchise records in multiple categories including receptions (123) and receiving yards (1,553) in a single season. He’s been to the Pro Bowl in each of the last five years and was first-team All-Pro in 2020 and 2021.
Adams was selected in the second round of the 2014 draft and since then has caught 669 passes for over 8,100 yards and 73 touchdowns.
The move gives the Packers the #22 and #28 picks in the first round of this year’s draft. It’s unclear which other pick the Packers are getting from the Raiders as part of the deal.
