MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — After going without a Police Chief for over a year and a half the Marshfield Police and Fire Commission is expected to name a new leader for the department on Tuesday.
The commission is expected to meet in a brief closed session at 5:15 to take a public vote on the agreement with the chosen candidate, who will then meet the public at about 5:30.
The public is invited to attend the meeting in person at city hall, and can also view the proceedings on the city’s public access channel 991 or the city’s YouTube channel.
Marshfield has been without a permanent Police Chief since August of 2020 when Rick Gramza was placed on leave following accusations of sexual misconduct filed against him. He reached a separation agreement with the city in March 2021. The case did go to Wood County Circut Court and led to Gramza paying a fine for two counts of disorderly conduct after pleading no contest to the charges and being found guilty by a visiting Portage County Judge.
