MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A Boyd man will serve prison time for distributing 50 grams or more of meth as part of a federal charge.
Saige T. Marten will spend eight years in prison after he was caught selling a baggie that contained nearly 56 grams of the drug to an informant. One week later he was involved in a high-speed chase that ended with him crashing his motorcycle, leaving behind over 150 grams of the drug and his driver’s license.
Marten’s sentence also includes four years of extended supervision. During sentencing Judge William Conley noted that Marten has a history of multiple convictions for drug trafficking. Additionally, he was under extended supervision at the time of the incident.
Multiple Eau Claire-area agencies were involved in the investigation into Marten’s actions. A co-defendant, Samantha Fristoe, has also pled guilty to the distribution of meth and will be sentenced in early May.
