MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — For the second time this week, the Marshfield Police and Fire Commission has filled a leadership role within the city’s public safety departments.
Pete Fletty was named the new Chief for the city’s Fire and Rescue Department after serving as Interim Chief for the last few months. Police and Fire Commission President Mike Meyers said after looking at his track record and how he ran the department in the first quarter of the year, the choice was obvious.
“It gave us an opportunity to see what a good job Pete could do; besides what we already knew up to that point in time,” said Meyer.
Fletty took the formal oath of office and received his badge on Friday as well. Following that ceremony, he thanked his family and the department for their support, including his family at home and in the fire station.
Earlier in the week, the Police and Fire Commission named Jodi Geurink as the city’s new Police Chief.
