MADISON, Wi (MetroSource-WSAU) — A Madison businessman who was talked about as a possible Republican candidate for Wisconsin governor won’t be entering the race.
Eric Hovde announced today he won’t run for Wisconsin governor, but is considering running for U.S. Senate in 2024. Hovde says he decided not to launch a campaign because of his father-in-law’s health issues.
There are currently three Republicans set to try to unseat Governor Tony Evers this year, former Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, Wisconsin State Representative Timothy Ramthun, and former Marine Kevin Nicholson.
