WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Republican Party of Marathon County has submitted an open records request to the City of Wausau for three items related to the April 5th election.
In an email to City Clerk Kaitlyn Bernarde that was obtained by WSAU News, party leaders are asking to see a list of all original voter registration applications for those who voted in the local election. They are also asking to see absentee ballot applications and envelopes from April 5th.
The letter adds that GOP leaders do not want copies of these items, but plan to inspect them at the Clerk’s office.
Chairman Jack Hoogendyk says he expects those items will be ready for inspection soon.
The GOP had asked for some records from the county as well, but that request was withdrawn late last week.
