WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A meth dealer from Milwaukee who was caught in Central Wisconsin was sentenced Monday to 2 years and 9 months in prison.
Cory D. Spencer, 23, was caught in February 2021 with 78 grams of heroin. The drugs, seized during a traffic stop by Everest Metro Police, were laced with fentanyl. The drugs had a street value of $24,000.
Prosecutors say Spencer had been bringing drugs to Central Wisconsin for years. It’s believed that he is linked to several local overdoses.
Spencer pled guilty as part of a plea bargain, where a lesser charge was dropped.
After his incarceration, Spencer will remain on supervised release for 7 years.
At the time of his arrest, a 20-year-old woman and her 2-year-old child were in his car. No charges were filed against her.
