WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A man accused of robbing WoodTrust Bank in Wausau made a court appearance in Marathon County on Friday.
Tommy Pittman, 55, is facing one count of robbery of a financial institution. He could face up to 40 years in prison if convicted. He’s being held on $15,000 cash bond.
Pittman was caught in Illinois last month, and was extradited back to Wisconsin on Thursday.
A criminal complaint said Pittman entered the bank on May 20th wearing a Packers hoodie and a Pittsburgh Steelers facemask. He demanded money from a teller, and made off with about $800. He did not display a weapon.
Pittman was tracked to Illinois in part through license plate tracking on the Illinois Tollway.
A judge will determine if there’s enough evidence for the case to proceed to trial during Pittman’s next court appearance on June 13.
