NEW LISBON, WI (WSAU) — An investigation is underway after a deadly shooting in a home in New Lisbon.
Juneau County Sheriff’s deputies responded yesterday morning to a shooting incident inside a home. There they found the 68-year-old homeowner dead, and a suspect barricaded in the basement with a firearm. That person refused to negotiate with officers on-site, leading them to bring specialized tactical teams in.
The suspect was found to have a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was hospitalized.
Attorney General Josh Kaul conducted a news conference at the scene, saying the suspect may have had other targets “related to the judicial system,” those people have been notified and Kaul adds that there are no active threats at this time.
At the last report, the suspect was in critical condition.
Names of those involved have not been released as of Saturday morning.
