MADISON, Wi (WSAU) — There were a number of Wisconsin athletic stories from Monday. Here is an overview.
The Wisconsin men’s and women’s basketball teams will be playing games at American Family Field in Milwaukee. It will happen on November 11th. The Badger men will take on Stanford and the women will play Kansas State. The field will be situated in the infield with temporary seats set up on the field. Tickets go on sale July 26th.
Badger basketball assistant Joe Krabbenhoft has been promoted to associate head coach. The former Badger player has been an assistant with Greg Gard for six seasons.
The Wisconsin football program continued to add recruits for the 2023 class on Monday. Commitments came from 6’1″ 200 pound WR Collin Dixon from Ohio and 6’5″ DE-LB Jordan Meyer from Pennsylvania. UW has eight known commitments for 2023
Wisconsin senior Olin Hacker won the NCAA championship in the 5000 meters last Friday in Eugene Oregon. He added to his families track & cross country legacy in Wisconsin. His father had won the NCAA Cross Country Championship in 1985. Other family members had won track and cross country titles in WIAA state meets. Hacker’s winning time was 13 minutes, 27.73 seconds.
