MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Starter Adrian Houser bounced back from a rough second inning but the Brewers’ offense and bullpen were unable to recover as Toronto scored a 9-4 interleague win on Friday.
Houser allowed five earned runs, all of which came in the second, and nine hits in the outing. Relievers Trevor Kelley and Peter Strzelecki combined to allow four runs and four hits over the final three innings.
Offensively Christian Yelich and Tyrone Taylor each had two hits to lead the Crew. Taylor’s line included a solo home run in the 9th inning. Omar Narvaez went 1-4 with a double and a run scored.
The same two teams will play game two of their series this afternoon at American Family Field. Pregame coverage begins at 2:35 on WSAU.
