WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wausau Police say a public report of a car versus power pole accident and public urination led them to arrest a man on suspicion of his 7th OWI this weekend.
It started at around 7 AM Saturday with a report of a hit-and-run accident on the northwest side of town. Officers weren’t immediately able to locate the vehicle, but a few minutes later there was a report of a man urinating in a park near a disabled vehicle.
Officers found enough evidence to connect the two incidents and arrested the man on suspicion of OWI.
No further details including the name of the driver were released.
Officers thanked the public for their help, saying their tips allowed them to get the man off the streets and save any further trouble.
