WASHINGTON DC (WSAU) — A third person is dead along with a Wisconsin couple after they were hit by lightning near the White House.
Investigators with Metropolitan Police of the District of Columbia said Friday that 76-year-old James Mueller and 75-year-old Donna Mueller of Janesville died from their injuries after Thursday’s lightning strike. They were on a trip celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary when they huddled under a tree in Lafayette Park during a thunderstorm.
Two others were with them when the lightning struck. One of those two, a 29-year old man from the West Coast, died yesterday. The fourth person is in critical condition.
