ST. LOUIS, MO (WSAU) — A rare triple from Hunter Renfroe and a home run from Luis Urias helped Milwaukee to a 3-2 win on Saturday.
The game went to extras tied at 1 after Milwaukee tied the game on the Urias blast in the 8th. Both sides went three up and three down in the 9th.
Andrew McCutchen was placed on second base to start the top of the 10th and immediately came home on Renfroe’s triple. He then scored on a sac fly from Kolten Wong.
The Cardinals scored their placed runner on a sac fly as well, but that was all the offense they could muster.
Corbin Burns went seven innings and allowed one earned run before turning the game over to the bullpen. Taylor Rodgers, Devin Williams, and Matt Bush followed, each going one inning. Williams earned the win, Bush the save.
The same two teams will close out their three-game set this afternoon. Coverage on WSAU starts at 12:40.
