WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A man who robbed the WoodTrust Bank in Wausau has reached a plea bargain.
The terms of the agreement with prosecutors for Tommy Pittman, 55, will become public after an appearance in Marathon County Court. Sentencing will be at a later date.
On May 20 Pittman entered the bank on Bridge Street and handed the teller a note demanding money.
Bank surveillance video showed a man with a Green Bay Packers sweatshirt and a Pittsburgh Steelers bandana. Wausau PD received several tips identifying Pittman as a suspect.
He was eventually caught in northern Illinois. A police license plate scanner identified the vehicle Pittman was traveling in three days later.
He’s since been extradited back to Wisconsin and has been held in the Marathon County jail.
