BAY CITY, WI (WSAU) – An experimental plane crashed in western Wisconsin. Both people onboard died.
The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened around 1:30pm Tuesday. It happened near Red Wing Airport in Bay City.
The plane, a Glass Air Super II SFT, had taken off from Rochester Minnesota for a training flight. It was attempting to land at the Red Wing Airport on the other side of the Mississippi River. It’s unclear if the pilot made any distress calls.
What caused the crash is unknown.
The victims have not been identified.
