MADISON, WI (WRN) – The candidates for US Senate in Wisconsin have so far agreed on just one debate.
The campaign of Republican incumbent Ron Johnson has agreed to three televised debates proposed by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and Milwaukee TV stations WISN and WTMJ.
Democratic challenger Mandela Barnes has agreed to that WTMJ debate and is also calling for a forum in Oshkosh hosted by the Wisconsin Farmers Union.
The Barnes campaign did not provide a reason for rejecting the other two TV debates.
In the governor’s race Governor Tony Evers and challenger Tim Michaels have agreed to a single debate sponsored by the Broadcasters Association. That’s set for October 14th.
