MENOMONEE FALLS, WI (WSAU) — Kohl’s is the latest retailer to announce that they will remain closed on Thanksgiving day.
“Last year, Kohl’s served millions of customers both in store and online throughout Black Friday week, and we look forward to delivering that same incredible experience to our customers again this year,” the company said.
The store, like many others, had gradually seen Black Friday store hours creep into Thanksgiving day, with shoppers cutting off family gatherings early to hunt for the best deals. That practice was put on pause in 2020 due to COVID-19, and will now become permanent.
Others promising to keep their doors closed on Thanksgiving include Target and Best Buy.
The Wisconsin-based department store will announce its Thanksgiving week store hours and deals at a later date.
