GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — The Green Bay Packers released RB Patrick Taylor from the active roster and released LB Kobe Kones from the practice squad. The transactions were announced Tuesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Taylor originally joined the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and has played in 16 games over the past two seasons.
Jones signed with the Packers this past May and has spent the season on the practice squad, appearing in one contest as a gameday elevation.
Green Bay also did not make a trade on deadline day. They were the only team in the division that did not make a move.
The Lions traded tight end T.J. Hockenson and two draft picks to Minnesota for a second & third round pick in 2023. The Bears acquired WR Chase Claypool from Pittsburgh for a 2nd round pick next year.
It was reported that the Packers had interest in Claypool. It’s also been reported that the Packers are close to activating running back Kylin Hill to the 53 man roster. He’s coming off a torn ACL.
