GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — The Green Bay Packers added safety Johnathan Abram off waivers from Las Vegas on Wednesday.
The former #1 pick had seen his playing time drop this season and he was released on Tuesday. He reportedly is better against the run than in pass defense.
To make room on the roster the Packers placed Rashan Gary on injured reserve. The packers also released wide receiver Kawaan Baker from the practice squad.
On injury front, Aaron Rodgers did not practice with his injured thumb. Others who were out included Sammy Watkins, Randall Cobb, Elgton Jenkins, David Bakhtiari, De’Vondre Campbell, Krys Barnes, Shemar Jean-Charles, Romeo Doubs, and Eric Stokes.
Others who were limited included Mason Crosby, Rasul Douglas, Allen Lazard, Preston Smith and Jon Runyun
Christian Watson and Aaron Jones did practice after leaving last Sunday’s game with injuries.
