MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Three kittens were found by a delivery driver on the side of Highway 97 a little over a month ago in critical condition.
The driver took the kittens to the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter hoping to save their lives.
After weeks of treatment, the little kittens are back to stable condition and currently living in foster care.
“It was a rollercoaster,” said Holly Henschke, Medical Coordinator at the shelter. “They would have a day when they would go to that food dish on their own, eat some, and we’d go ‘alright, cool. We’re getting to where we should be.”
Henschke says this isn’t out of the ordinary to receive animals in this bad of condition, but with the treatment, food intake, and a couple baths, these kittens are almost ready to be adopted.
The shelter says they’ll be available for adoption once they hit two pounds which should be within a few weeks.
