MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A federal grand jury has indicted a Vesper man after he was found to have drugs and firearms.
John W. Andereggen will face trial in federal court for the Western District of Wisconsin after investigators say they found cocaine and methamphetamine in his home on October 6th, 2022. Officers say they also found five firearms including a sawed-off shotgun and a 9 MM pistol.
As a convicted felon, the 55-year-old was prohibited from possessing any firearms.
If found guilty he faces a minimum sentence of ten years in federal prison and a maximum of life in prison on just the meth charges alone. The cocaine and firearms charges carry maximum penalties of 20 and 10 years, respectively.
Charges against Andereggen stem from an investigation conducted by both the Marathon and Wood County Sheriff’s Departments and numerous police departments from Stevens Point to Nekoosa and Marshfield.
