MADISON – The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation invites farmers and agriculturists to attend the Leaders of the Land Food Processing Tour on February 10 at Bernatello’s Foods in Kaukauna and Feeding America in Little Chute.
The purpose of the Leaders of the Land Food Processing Tour is to offer different perspectives regarding environmental stewardship across Wisconsin. The tour series will highlight sustainability throughout the food supply chain, bringing together farmer and retail perspectives.
During the tours attendees will learn what food processors are doing to be responsible stewards of their resources. Members will also have an opportunity to serve their communities through a volunteer activity at Feeding America.
“It takes all of us to meet our sustainability goals,” said Kevin Krentz, WFBF President. “From farmers to food processors to grocery stores to the dinner table, we can all work together to protect our environment and preserve our resources. This tour series will highlight those efforts throughout the food supply chain.”
Bernatello’s Foods is a family-owned frozen pizza manufacturing business in the Midwest. Bernatello’s pizza is available at local grocery stores under the Brew Pub, Orv’s and Roma brands.
Feeding America is the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization. Feeding America fights hunger by redirecting and donating food that would otherwise be wasted.
Pre-registration for the Leaders of the Land Food Processing Tour is preferred. Registration is $20 for Farm Bureau members and non-members. Lunch will be provided.
