WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A man who provided the heroin that nearly led to a fatal overdose was sentenced Monday under a plea bargain.
Shawn McFann, 22, was sentenced to three years jail time in Marathon County court. But he will not face additional incarceration. He was given credit for more than 1,300 days served while awaiting trial.
Prosecutors say a man was found unresponsive and had to be revived twice before using the heroin that McFann delivered. The case dates back to February, 2019. There was a 911 call involving the same victim two days later. 11 other charges related to drug delivery were dismissed but read into the record.
McFann will have to pay restitution and attend all court ordered counselling and rehabilitation.
