AMSTERDAM (Reuters) -The international team investigating the 2014 downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17) will halt their probe without further prosecutions, as they do not have enough evidence to bring more cases to trial, a source close to the investigation said on Wednesday.
The JIT is set to announce its decision at a press conference on Wednesday from 1200 GMT.
In November, a Dutch court convicted two former Russian intelligence agents and a Ukrainian separatist leader of murder for helping arrange the Russian missile system that was used to shoot the plane down, killing 298 passengers and crew. The three men, who were tried in absentia, remain at large.
