GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — The New York Jets are making a formal inquiry on the availability of Aaron Rodgers.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports New York has reached out to Green Bay about the star quarterback, which was an expected move as Gang Green explores veteran options. The Jets already hired former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to become their OC.
Jets owner Woody Johnson said adding a proven veteran would be the missing piece to get back to the postseason.
Rodgers is heading on a “darkness retreat” and says he’ll make a decision on his football future later this week.
The Athletic recently interviewed executives around the league and many believe the Pack are more than likely to trade Rodgers than hold on to him.
