MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Michigan State built a 3-0 first-period lead and never looked back in a 6-2 win on Friday at the Kohl Center.
Tyson Jugnauth and Zach Urdahl scored for Wisconsin in the loss, with Jugnauth’s goal coming on a second-period power play.
Kyle McClellan allowed five goals on eight shots in the game’s first 30 minutes before earning himself a trip to the bench. Jared Moe was able to put the fire out, allowing one goal on 12 shots against, though the offense failed to mount a serious comeback.
Four of the game’s eight goals came in the second period.
Michigan State is now 3-0 against Wisconsin this season, clinching the four-game season series between the schools. They’ll play again this evening at the Kohl Center for Wisconsin’s Senior Day and final home game of the season. Coverage begins at 6:30 on WSAU.
