WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau man accused of cutting his friend’s throat during a night of drug use pled not guilty to attempted homicide charges on Monday.
Lee Xiong is said to have slashed the victim’s throat during a moment of paranoia, saying he thought there was a hit out on him and that he thought his friend was going to carry it out.

Prosecutors say he used a box cutter to slash the man’s throat. The victim, who was not identified, did survive the injuries.
The victim added that Xiong was “extremely high” at the time and had not slept in a few days, which may have added to his unsettled state.
The 37-year-old Xiong is being held on a quarter-million-dollar cash bond. he returns to court on March 15th.
