WISCONSIN (WTAQ-WRN) — The UW System may be raising its tuition next year.
UW System President Jay Rothman says tuition may be going up around 5% in the next school year.
“This modest tuition increase will help our universities continue to provide students with a world class education, produce the talent that Wisconsin’s workforce needs to succeed, and spark innovation and vitality in our communities.” said Rothman.
That raise would still be under the inflation rate, and Rothman says that the UW System remains committed to having affordable education in Wisconsin, while remaining financially secure.
Rothman also said the tuition increase will not cover all of the costs related to inflation, so the System will still need to make some cuts.
