The Green Bay Packers want to make sure the progress made on Special Teams last year under coordinator Rich Bisaccia continues. General Manager Brian Gutekunst on Tuesday re-signed Dallin Leavitt to a one year contract. Leavitt is the former Las Vegas Raider who played under Bisaccia in 2021. The safety by trade spearheaded the resurgence, playing in all 17 games and sharing the team lead in special teams tackles with 13. Gutekunst has now brought back 7 unrestricted free agents who primarily played on special teams last year including first team All Pro kick returner Keiseasn Nixon, Rudy Ford, Eric Wilson, Tyler Davis and Corey Ballentine.
Rob Davis is returning to the Packers. He’s been named the Director of Organizational Development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. It’s a new position in the organization that will have Davis lead and implement training programs for all employees at Lambeau Field. Davis spent 11 years as the team’s long snapper where he played in 167 consecutive games, still the fourth longest run in franchise history. After his playing career, he was the team’s Director of Player Development for 9 years. He left the team to spend a couple of seasons with Mike McCarthy in Dallas with the Cowboys before coming back with this new position.
