SHAWANO, WI (WSAU) — A Shawano County man accused of strangling a woman to death in 2022 has requested a new attorney.
Michael Ingold was in court on Tuesday where records show he told the judge he will be firing Attorney Christopher Froelich.
Investigators say the woman, who has not been identified, showed injuries consistent with “manual strangulation.” Ingold has denied that he strangled her, though the investigation shows that he and the victim were the only two in the home at the time of the incident.
He pled not guilty to one count of first-degree homicide in January.
The 58-year-old is also requesting a speedy trial, which will be considered during his next hearing on May 10th.
