MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU-MetroSource) – The Heat are moving on to the next round of the NBA playoffs after a wild finish in Milwaukee.
Miami earned a 128-126 overtime win against the Bucks.
Jimmy Butler caught an inbound lob pass and kissed a falling layup off the glass to send the game to OT. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored five points in the extra frame for Milwaukee, but the Deer let the shot clock run out with five seconds left which secured the win for Miami.
Butler led all scorers with 42 points as the Heat won the best-of-seven series four games to one.
Miami will play the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Giannis scored 38 points for the Bucks, which lost as the number-1 overall seed in the playoffs.
The last time a one-seed fell to an eighth seed was back in 2011 when the Grizzlies beat the Spurs. It’s only the sixth time in NBA history the first seed has lost to the eighth seed.
