ST LOUIS, MO (WSAU-MetroSource) – The Cardinals won their series against the Brewers following a 3-0 victory from St. Louis.
Matthew Liberatore got the win after pitching five innings of three-hit ball while striking out six batters. Paul DeJong slugged a two-run homer while Nolan Arenado drove in his 32nd run of the season. Ryan Helsley earned his fifth save of the year as St. Louis improved to 18-and-26.
The Brewers appeared to tie the game on a Tyrone Taylor home run in the 4th inning. Replay showed the ball hit the top of the wall, but stayed in the field of play.
The Cards are last in the NL Central.
Owen Miller went three-for-four with a double for Milwaukee, which dropped to 24-and-19.
The Brewers are first in the division. The Brewers open a three-game series against the Rays in St. Petersburg tomorrow night.
