WESTON, WI (WSAU) — One of the D.C. Everest students who were killed in a crash near Kewaskum will be laid to rest today.
Emily Lewerenz will be remembered at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Weston with a visitation at 10 AM and a funeral at Noon.
The Church is located near D.C. Everest Senior High, where Lewerenz was supposed to receive her high school diploma on Wednesday as the Class of 2023’s valedictorian.
She is referred to in her obituary as a talented writer and painter. She loved singing, acting, and snowboarding. Co-workers at Patron in Weston also praised her, saying she was family to them and always willing to help when needed.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Emily Lewerenz Memorial Fund. Patron also donated a percentage of sales from this week to the family to help with funeral expenses.
